He was also hairdresser in
- Prizzi´s Honor ( as "hair styles creator for Kathleen Turner and Anjelica Huston"... remember those? and the costumes by Donfeld?),
-Mannequin: On the move,
-Thelma and Louise
-Body of Evidence, to name a few of his most remarkable jobs. A lot of bad hair!.
Here are some of his creations for Wall Street:
- Michael Douglas (notice the gorgeous ladies at his back)
- Charlie Sheen
- Sean Young
- James Spader, with Maculay Culkin´s style, and the same glasses I had when I was 13
- Daryl Hannah!
She was atrocious in this movie, which earned her a Razzie - and rightly so. But I am sure most of the credit for this award must be given to Mr. Cortino: it is much easier to act awfully, if you wear an awful hairdo, like these:
... you can leave your hat on...
most of the time she looks like a man, I guess this Cortino was used to work with transvestites:
... special mention for Ellen Mirojnick for the creation of this costume, a favourite of mine, would do it for Milli Vanilli, as well as for a car race. Don´t miss the matching earrings!.
Ms. Mirojnick went on to create fantastic costumes in Cocktail, Fatal Attraction and Showgirls!
- Here some other ladies:
- Terence Stamp is the only one Cortino got right (and he was the best in the movie), he has class.
